Hi folks, Big get together planned for Oct. 19th and 20th in Orange Park. Hosted by the Kymystry Band of Jax. BarryLee Harwood will be there playing both nytes. All info is available on www.frynds.com. Also, Barrylee has a link from his website www.barryleeharwood.com to his new chatroom "The Heartstrings Cafe" and the audio is said to be much better than Paltalk or Yahoo ever was. I am hoping Pat will travel up to Jax with me on Oct. 19th. In the Frynds of Skynyrd chatroom of Paltalk..(it's not there now)...this is where I first heard of the Rambler Band from a member named Ray VanZant (no relation) and he played Skynyrd Fantasy..over a year before I met Pat...who woulda guessed that I would get the opportunity to play informal small gigs with him later...small world huh? By the way guys...'yall played a nice gig up in Oklawaha at the Fox Crossing and it was a pleasure getting to meet 'yall..you were all very busy and we didnt get to chat much...I won't get a chance to come see 'yall in Sanford though,...aww darn... Hope to see some of 'yall in Jax though...they didn't have a time slot to book Pat and I, but there will be informal pickin and grinnin outside during both days with a full sound stage set up. Skynyrd Fantasy needs to be played for this anniversary LIVE for these people. Hopefully it will help launch some CD sales for 'yall. B-Cool..Peace...Neil Cody

I've heard a lot of first time recordings for bands and I must say that the quality of First Things First is as good and professional sounding as any ...and moreso than some that I have heard. We lost two greats this past summer...George McCorcle and Huey Thomasson...they'll be sorely missed from the Southern Rock Realm of musicians..RIP... Peace

This was an awesome event ! If you missed it, it happens every year, so make plans for next years 31st get together. The event was held at Sharky's in Jax. Pat had appeared on the same stage with the full Rambler line-up that he had 10 years ago for the 20th anniversary. There will soon be photos of this event at www.frynds.com . The crowd was quite large (elbow room only) for this FREE event and special appearances were made by Artemus Pyle and Barrylee Harwood and other notable musicians There were several acoustic acts, preceeding the electric rock portion of the show. This was a two-day event. On both days, Pat and I had the pleasure of performing The Skynyrd Fantasy and letting the crowd preview some of his newest material not found on the First Things First CD. Portions of the event were simulcast from 105i , a Jax based internet radio station. Jax (4) television station ( link found on Frynds.com ) interviewed Nadine Atkinson of The Kymystry Band which hosted the event and a performing musicians cookout on Saturday. Great burgers Nadine!! Hats off to you and Charlie. The candlelight vigil on Saturday was very emotionally stirring...almost eerie. The room was so quiet with 300 or more attendees that you could hear a pin drop. Artemus made a speech where he described that fateful day in the Mississippi swamp. The candlelight vigil was held between the acoustic portion of the show and the electric portion of the show (Skynyrd Fantasy was still soaking in)...The rock and roll portion of the event was opened up by BarryLee Harwood on his acoustic guitar where he did a version of Made in the Shade, one that he recorded with Lynyrd Skynyrd. BarryLee played with Kymystry while they performed many of the hottest Skynyrd cover tunes flawlessly. Greg Harvey and Scott Selph work so well together onstage with the same dual lick southern rock style of Rossington-Collins or D.(L.O.L. can't type his first nameL.O.L.) Betts and Duane Allman. ... Peace Neil
